Quixel displacement not showing in the viewport

I have a situation here that i just can’t find a way out.

When i import a material from megascans with displacement active into UE 4.27, the material comes ok, the maps come ok, but i have to change the master material from MS_defaultMaterial to MS_defaultMaterial_displacement so i can tune the displacement settings.

The problem is, when i switch the master, all i get in the viewport is the default checker material from Unreal. If i set the MS_defaultMaterial as a master again, it works.

I tested this with at least 8 materials, all with the same problem. Tried reinstalling the plugin, no change…

How can i make displacement work in quixel material inside Unreal?
