Quixel bridge not working in unreal engine 5,whenever I open It I get an error message saying"FAILLED TO RESTART BACKGROUND SERVICES restart now"How can I fix this ?Im stuck

I tried reinstalling quixel bridge it didnt work and then I reinstalled Unreal engine the problem still exists

Quixel Bridge Failed to restart background service

Hi all, I had the same issue, but for me the solution was different. It turns out that I moved my “Documents” folder away from the Windows default. So the system was trying to create a folder called: “C:\Users\MyName\Documents\Megascans Library” But because the Documents folder did not exist, it was failing. I created a Documents folder there, and now it works.

Alternatively from the same thread it could also stem from an antivirus program locally on the user’s system that blocks access to files for potentially unwanted programs which can interrupt a key component (node-bifrost.exe), however if you have some other form of network level security you may also experience this issue. Lastly on older versions of windows, Node.js (and by extension bifrost) cannot run regularly and requires some modifications. Hope this helps!

Thank so much! you were right it was looking for library into the wrong folder so I changed it to where my bridge library is and now its working
