I think it would be interesting and would help a bit in usability, the Content Browser, had something like the Mac’s Quick Look:

Thus, when an item was selected in the Content Browser and the spacebar was pressed, a small popup would appear showing the item.
If it were a model, the model would show the popup, and drag the mouse, the model would be rotated.
If the item was an audio, would display a button for play / pause.
And so on.
With this, the user would not be going into each item to check, just press space and check.
