Hi, newbie here. Questions:
01. How to prepare RAW files to use them for aligning and 3d reconstruction. I use Darkroom. Need valies for example for highlights, shadows, local contrast. Any other sluders should I use?
02. Which format is much beneficial for aligning and 3d meshing. Raw, jpg, tiff?
03. Should I use 16bit formats or 8bits? I dont know if Realityscan forces 16bits to 8bits for reconstruction?
04. Alignment initial values. Should I care at all? I’d like to “tighten” solution a little in order to minimize mean and other errors. What to change?
05. I’ve noticed that components aligned via control points do not form good surface in terms of there are “jumps” - differences in reconstructed surface vs real surface. Norhing big. Just jumps or little pits. I dont know how to do it better. A little EXPLANATION. I intentionally made too few photos with camera rotation bigger than 20 degrees in order to have exercise in merging components or images that werent aligned at all. Just for exercise. How to improve CP solution without taking another photos (for example I cannot do it or object is gone)?
- I’ve noticed in 3d reconstructed mesh that brighter parts or edge of strongly lit surface is “higher” than other parts. For example I can read letters on a sticker (white sticker with black letters) while in solid mode (no textures - sticker is glued to surface). What are settings to avoid that - It should be flat like in reality. I should be able to read eg sticker after adding texture, not from mesh itself.
