Questions about Animated Cutscenes/events and Incoperation into Gameplay

This is actually two questions I think are probably gonna have the same answer, I am working on a game that involves character and animation so I am gonna pose these both here and maybe split if the answers are different.

I am interested in creating animated cut-scenes like this: https://youtu.be/oT2vUWFAqsE?t=329

Specifically cut-scenes that are within the first person character view that blend seamlessly into the game-play. I am interested in this for two reasons:

  1. I want the character to have to interact with objects like Switches, where the control is temporarily removed from the player as they are preforming an action and then brought back.

  2. I also want cut-scenes completely in the same point of view as the character and, like the cut-scene in stalker, transition to game-play without a jump or weird linear motion from a Camera Blend.

Although I feel like just using the character blueprint as the animation blueprint would help with this, I wanna hear if anybody has tried this, any good tutorials/tips on achieving the best look for this, that sorta thing. I have a few different requirements for later on the project for how this would work but I am gonna cross that river when I get to it.

State Trees, Smart Objects, and Contextual Animations.

And tutorial:

It is a bit chaotic (but covers most), also his voice makes me sleepy, so be warned.

I’ll take a look at this, thank you
