Question on how to make the animations smoother

Hello, When I move left and right(when I hit a then d) with my character it just snaps to that animation and does not have any fluid movement/smooth transition to it. Looks pretty wonky. I am using the starter animation fps pack; that can give you an idea of what animations I’m using. Any way to remove that snapping effect or is there a way I can change up the animations to make that transition smoother. If need any additional information, please be free to ask.

Hey @LonelyBox!

What you are looking for are blendspaces. Check out this non-Epic affiliated video on how to set them up for your locomotion:

I hope the above is the solution you need!

Thank you! I will try the video out, if it works I will mark your answer as the solution and give you the like you deserve for your time.

Hey! Just watch the video, it does not give me the information I need to resolve my issue. I am using blend spaces and locomotion.

The problem is when I am moving right, then I start moving left the character snaps to the animation with no transition to it.

I’ve tried using weight speed to see if it fixes the problem, but to no avail.

If you need more information(maybe even a video), I will gladly provide.
I have attached my blendspace to this message.

If you click the character animation component on the editor there is also a property to set the rotation rate for it.

I am gonna be real with you. I can not find where in the hell what you are telling me is. I’m blind. Can you please show me a screenshot of what you are talking about. I will appreciate it a ton. Thanks for your time and help!

Open the character, click the movement component in the component list, then look at the details panel and search for “rotation rate”. I docked the details panel there, I think by default it’s a big panel on the right.
