Hi, I am new to this industry and I have a little question that grinds me, I do not excel in mathematics and my question is, how much math do you have to do a car type simulator game, simulator bus for android and tell me like what math stuff I have to learn, formulas, etc.

The answer is - it just depends… If you can buy car packs and customize them to what you want, maybe you don’t need much Math at all… Suggestion: Start subscribing to Community car threads and go from there. In general an engine dev needs solid Math. However, that’s not always true for every game dev. Car games tend to be more Math / Formula heavy than say an RPG or FPS Shooter though… Just to warn you…

And, what kind of math do I need, and what are the car threads?

Suggestion:

Take apart projects like the ones below (search Community-Tools on keywords Car / Vehicle to find others etc)…

Then when you’ve played around with the samples for a while, post your Maths/Formula questions in the threads:

what kind of math should I learn, vectors, trigonometry for this game? Taxi Sim 2020 - Trailer (iOS & Android) - YouTube , World of Mobile Simulation Games - OviLex Software - (iOS & Android) - YouTube

Get vector math down for starters…

and if I only use blueprint?

Go for it! Blueprints are fine to learn Vector / Trig Math with…

(Note, Quats aren’t exposed… But that’s Adv Math anyway)
