This seems like a very basic question, but as I publish my first map this weekend, I’ve begun to focus on polishing and realized that I have no idea how to paste the island code into the matchmaking portal device after conducting the memory test to obtain the map code. I’m not sure if this makes sense, but to get my map code, I need to publish it. I’m pretty sure the memory check code used for playtesting and such would eventually become the full published map code, right? How would I input my code after the map has been published, considering it would change the map code once I add the map code, wouldn’t it?
It’s possible I’m approaching this incorrectly. I simply want a ‘find new match’ button that places you in a queue to find a new opponent, which I assumed was just a matchmaking portal device with your own code in it. Alternatively,
- I might be stupid, and there’s a much easier way to do this.
or - I’m not stupid, and someone who has encountered this problem has figured it out, making it a legitimate concern.
or - I can update it post memory calculation, and it doesn’t affect the code.
or - There is some implicate verse code that needs to be implemented
If any of these scenarios are correct, ideally not he last one, or if you have some unique knowledge about matchmaking portal devices, please let me know
