[Question] Do I have the right ? Using the 3D Model Brand !

Hello !!!

I have a question.
I was wondering. If I have a Glock17 made by a professional in 3D model and he gives me the legal rights.
Am I allowed to use it in my game even though Glock is a real brand that exists in real life?

Replace Glock with Pepsi or Gucci or whatever you want.

Because I see a lot of games on Steam with m4 or m16… really basic little games sometimes… Do you think they asked for the rights?

Let’s take Unreal Marketplace as an example. There is
M16.
Example: m16A2 in Weapons - UE Marketplace
Is the use of this M16 illegal?

There are no Glocks in this market.
However, Glock… is extremely well known.

Am I allowed to legally use this m16 in my game, but not a Glock?

If I get a Glock17 made. For legal use do I have to write another name on it. Like “Grap17” for example?

Thank you for reading me.

Nobody can help me ? :smiling_face_with_tear:

Hey @Naki65!

An actual answer to this would constitute more as legal advice. It is unlikely you will be able to find what you need for your situation here on the forums as there are many factors that can not be accounted for (contracts, who actually has legal rights, licensing, etc.).

I highly suggest you to reach out to legal council who is qualified to give an answer to this question and can give you sound advice to your specific situation when it arises.

Thank you very much for your answer.
I will do it ! :+1:
