[Question] Are there settings that you can change to improve performance?

Hi ,
I am am trying to run a build of a game we are making on my laptop , it is pretty good specification and will run UDK games on full settings fairly smoothly. When I try to play a UE4 game it will play at 15 - 25 FPS at 800x600 resolution . In UDK there where console commands like “scale LowEnd” or “Set Detail Mode 0” that you could use to lower the graphical settings and improve the FPS. I have not found the same commands in UE4 . Are they in there or is there an equivalent?

Thanks

Hi,

If you click on View and then go down to Engine Scalability Settings you should be able to change the graphical settings. Also “scale LowEnd” along with “scale HighEnd” are still functional in Rocket, although “Set Detail Mode” is not.

Cheers

I have not been able to find Engine Scalability Settings . When you say “Click on View” do you mean between Content and samples on the tool bar in the editor?

When I try Scale Lowend there is an error message that says unrecognised system setting . Has it changed to something else?

I’m sorry Engine Scalability Settings aren’t in Beta 6 they are expected be in a future release of Rocket. Also with the command it is working on our end, but I’m going to look into why it wouldn’t be working on yours.

Those settings are only accessible from a button above the default viewport.
