Question about rigging characters and cloth


First, I’m programmer so, I have no idea about modeling, rigging, etc… sorry if I’m asking something stupid. I have bought a character from CGTrader and I want to adapt it to the epic skeleton. I think I can do it following some tutorial but… This character has cloth parts and I would like to use the unreal’s (nvidia) cloth solver so, my question is… Do I have to rig the character using ART with the cloth parts? or those parts should be a different mesh and then apply the cloth system into the editor?? this system needs bones for cloth parts or it makes the calculation without them??


You don’t need to separate the meshes or add extra joints, The cloth tool is applied on a material basis in the engine.
