Question about performance mesh vs landscape

my game “map” is simple, it is an island with a couple of spikes for mountains.
eventually I would like to add multiplayer but for now it’s just single player.

Should I use a static mesh for my map or should I use landscape.
I don’t much, but what I’ve seen is that a mesh (if the shape repeats) then it loads faster.

Which is better for me to use? and the reasons.

It really depends how big the landscape is and how detailed the mesh is.

Have you checked your frame rates, and compared the two?
