Question about custom vegetation paints to add leaf materials

Example of Hedge materialHello,

I am currently looking for a way to create a new grass-like item that can be painted on a surface. However in this instance I would like the painted item to have the same density as grass but be made from plant-leaves (Oak leaf, beech leaf, Ivy leaf, maple leaf, etc).

I tried painting with the climber from the misc category, however that did not nearly provide the coverage that I required, and also included too much vines. What I would like is to make my own paintable material but instead of grasses painting leaves. However I cannot find any clear importing instructions as looking for new grass only leads me on how to paint with the existing grasses.

The end goal is to be able to give imported geometry a 3D leaf texture, making it look as for example a hedge or topiary element. I am aware that there are hedge elements in Twinmotion, but they do not provide enough variety in shape or leaf and are a complete headache to place.

Greetings,

Kevin

PS: as an attachment I added a picture from a different rendering program, where I could apply a plant material that consisted of full 3d leaves. The underlying geometry was rectangular, just like the steel container that the hedge is standing is.
