Bring the classic mirror ball to your Unreal previz, music video or club scene, the way it really looks.
The pin spot hits the ball and every mirror tile reflects its own light ray with the real mirror law.
Each ray is traced into the level, so the light dots land correctly on walls, floors, trusses and people.
In haze you see hundreds of crisp light shafts turning around the room.
Control it any way you like
Live from your lighting desk over DMX (Art-Net / sACN): 8 channels for dimmer, rotation, RGB colour, strobe, zoom and chain length. A GDTF file is included.
In Sequencer: all show parameters are keyable, and renders with Movie Render Queue are clean and repeatable.
By hand in the Details panel.
Highlights
About 1800 instanced mirror tiles; up to 3000 reflection rays (1200 by default) with line-traced wall dots.
Volumetric-looking shafts with a simple Haze Amount slider.
Pin spot with housing, distance, zoom, RGB, strobe, lens glow and a hotspot on the ball.
Realistic twinkle of tiles near the hotspot.
Chain hoist with a motor and real chain links: raise or lower the ball smoothly, also over DMX.
One-click demo: optional built-in room and haze.
Camera director (keys 1–4) and fly-through game mode included.
Works in packaged Windows builds.
Made by a lighting designer for lighting designers: tested with ChamSys MagicQ over Art-Net.
Features:
Mirror ball actor PVE_MirrorBallSystem with ~1800 tiles, up to 3000 reflection rays (default 1200), wall dots, pin spot, twinkle, chain hoist, room and fog
8-channel DMX control (Art-Net / sACN through Unreal's DMX Protocol plugin)
Sequencer-keyable properties (dimmer, colour, strobe, zoom, rotation, chain length, haze, brightness, Use DMX)
Camera director (PVE_CameraDirector) and fly-through game mode (PVE_FlyGameMode)
Example level and GDTF fixture file
DMX channels (8):
1 Dimmer · 2 Rotation · 3 Red · 4 Green · 5 Blue · 6 Strobe (0–9 open, 10–255 = 1–20 Hz) · 7 Zoom · 8 Chain length

Important/Additional Notes:
Needs the DMX Protocol plugin (comes with Unreal; enabled automatically).
The rays need haze/fog to be visible; a dark scene gives the best result.
DMX is optional: without DMX the ball uses the Details panel or Sequencer values.
