Putting a condition on firing a projectile

Making an FPS. I have my character’s event graph set up so that when the left mouse button is pressed, a projectile spawns out of a gun’s socket. Works all well and fine, but how do I set it up so that it will only fire once a specific event has already been triggered?

Just put a bool in the character, default is false. Only let the gun fire when the bool is true. The other event set the bool to true.
