Pushing Launcher to local language - WHY ??

Dear developers,

why are you pushing the launcher in local language???
My system is in english language, just the regional configuration is set to local. WHY THERE IS NO OPTION TO SELECT (AND KEEP) THE LANGUAGE IN THE EPIC LAUNCHER ?
I’m not willing to delete localisation files after every update. Sorry, you can make such mandatory configuration with Apple users, here are such forced decisions just stressy.

I have moved your thread to the correct location.

Hi thorium666,

Thanks for the feedback. You’ll find additional conversation and information in this post on the UE4 Answerhub: https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/341579/wrong-language-in-launcher.html

Cheers

This isn’t fun. The translation aren’t even well done, they are even worse than Google’s translate, WHY do you PUSH it if it isn’t ready?

I’m in Windows 10, and EVERY time I upgrade the launcher version, the language resets to Spanish just because I live in Spain, and I’m from Spain and even I don’t understand the launcher when it is in Spanish!! That’s how bad the translations are. So again, WHY PUSH IT?! Why? Oh my god, Unreal has already a lot of bugs, why the hell would you create new ones is beyond my understanding.

Good day sir. ****.

Thanks for the feedback, IvanRodriguez. We’ll see what we can do to improve your experience with Epic’s products going forward!

This wouldn’t be a problem if it saved the language setting.
But it doesn’t. I set it to english, restart the launcher, and it’s german again.

Thanks for reporting this guys! This definitely isn’t desired behavior. Once you’ve explicitly set your language from the drop down on the sign-in prompt the launcher should remain in that language from that point forward, regardless of update or restart.

This issue has been fixed in the latest version of the launcher, released this afternoon. Please continue to let us know about problems in the future!
