Punching Machine - Digital Twin

My first Project to create a Digital Twin from a Machine i made 2019 with Solidworks. The Machine punches holes inside a Car Bumper for Sensors. I used UE5 Preview and Datasmith Pipeline

Greetings @Cpt.Brotzeit !

Firstly, this digital twin looks impeccable! The detailed movements of the complex machine at work is astounding! There are so many moving parts, both intricately small and rather large. The digital twin is the perfect way to showcase the ingenuity of the machine. I can only imagine the mathematics involved! Amazing recreation! Thank you for sharing!

With Solidworks, did you build the punching machine from concept to finished product? How long does it take for the machine to complete one car bumper? Does the machine punch holes into any other parts? Can the machine punch holes into any other material?

hello @Get_DOVAH_it

thank you for your interest

Yes exactly the whole machine was done with Solidworks. It was my biggest project so far.

I called it Punching Machine but actually there are several other processes integrated. There are sensors glued into the punched holes, like Parking Sensor or a Head Light Cleaner. There is also an option for US Cars - they need a side reflector.

The whole process should not take longer than 160 seconds. This time is also design basis for everything else.

As I mentioned earlier, the same part is available in different configurations. But it is always the same basic model.

Each cutting tool is designed exactly for this one application. These cutting tools are extremely expensive and complicated to manufacture.

I have made the machine from the concept phase to final acceptance. It really cost me a lot of energy . Of course, I also made many mistakes that were very expensive.
thats why i would like to share my experience with you. This Machine was made in 2019 from January to October… to the first punched parts

i´ve made another digital twin machine project in unreal engine- watch out soon

Nice work again, found some more information on your website and was wondering about the PLC connectivity you mentioned, are these unreal models and machine actual connected through azure or some sort? These renders would make awesome HMIs, I am looking to innovate in this direction.
