I just spent about 2 days downloading a bunch of assets from Quixel Bridge app. When I finally was able to get into UE5, I noticed that the Bridge Plugin only had a 2 or 3 downloads. I looked everyone online and someone said that the plugin and the app are two different applications and download assets differently. I am wondering if there’s a way to transfer the downloads from Bridge App to Bridge plugin so that i don’t have to redownload all those assets again. I am pulling my hair out trying to figure this out as I feel like i have wasted time and bandwidth for an app that should be integrated in to UE5 but isnt.
Find where you downloaded them to and just copy them to your project folder like regular files. They have to be placed in the Content folder. Otherwise I don’t know about any differences.
They wouldn’t show up in the Quixel bridge plugin though, correct? Additionally, wouldn’t that make my project file HUGE?
I have around 2,000 assets downloaded but don’t want to add that much to each new project file. I would love to keep them reference in the bridge plugin but add them as needed from there. Currently, the plugin in UE shows i only downloaded a handful because i downloaded those through the plugin within UE.
I’m not really that sure about the plugin vs bridge app. It typically knows you downloaded it, so there is A copy of it on your computer. If you look in the plug in, it will show a blue arrow when you mouse over ones you already downloaded. Just click that and they add quickly. You will only need to add the ones you need to each project.
