Hey,
Is there a trick to making the PS5 controller work on UE5.1? I enabled the DualShock plugin, but that didn’t help with either PS4 or PS5 controller.
I thought the DualSense was meant to be supported by default? It registers no input when used
Thanks for taking the time - but this does not make the PS5 controller suite work with unreal, it just enables inputs to be processed from unrecognized sources.
This does not give access to other functionality, such as haptics, adaptive triggers, etc., so not really a solution to my issue.
Sorry there is no out of the box solution for ps5 haptics or adaptive triggers for pc. It’s ps5 driver specific with no driver implementation for windows as of yet. (that is up to sony & microsoft at this point)
DS4 in the newer incarnation seems to have some of the ps5 functions but it’s just a wrapper.
Ah that’s a bit annoying.
I also just found an answer that there is indeed an out of the box solution, but only for approved dev teams developing for PS5, which is a bit lame, but not much we can do I suppose.
You could alternatively run your game through Steam, and the controller should be recognizable and used. I am not sure if you can start the engine through steam. However the final game should allow you to use the PS5 controller.
I’m currently using a PS4 and a PS5 gamepad for local coop test. For this I installed the DS4 Windows for the PS4 connection and DS5 DualSenseX for the PS5 connection. Both working in Bluetooth and configured to simulate a Xbox controller.
