Ps3 Gamepad in UE4

Hi Guys,

I’m trying to use a PS3 Generic Wired gamepad to navigate a UE4 Scene or move the mannequin in a 3rd person scene.
Windows recognizes the PS3 and everything is working in the Game Controller–> Properties, but I can’t make it work inside UE4. I’m trying to wrap it as a Xbox controller without success. So far I tried:

  • JoyinMotion is offline.
  • JoyinMotion Local (can’t make it work)
  • Better DS3, doesn’t recognize without JoyinMotion drivers installed.\
  • SCP Server: Installs everything ok, but ScpServer shows no connected devices.

Any ideas?

I just want to add that in 4.17 my PS3 controller stopped to work on Linux. With 4.16 everything was fine but since 4.17 I cannot control the editor neither does the game recognize my controller. In 4.16 there were no problems. Everything worked like a charm.

I am sure that my controller works under Linux since Steam recognizes its input. Thus I will follow this thread. Maybe someone has ideas.

Try using a modded SCP toolkit. I once have a fake ps3 controller that ddint work with the release of SCP. Just google on how to make fake ps3 controllers to work.
