PROPDAY is Looking for a Level Designer (Revenue Share)

I’m currently looking for a level designer to join PROPDAY, an asymmetric multiplayer horror game inspired by the prop hunt genre.

I’ve been developing PROPDAY for over a year, building its core gameplay systems and multiplayer infrastructure. The project has come a long way, and I’m now looking for someone who can help bring its maps to life and contribute to the game’s future.

Current Progress

  • Over 1 year of active development

  • 3,400+ members in our Discord community

  • 700+ Steam wishlists within the first month of the Steam page going live

  • Consistent daily wishlist growth of around 5, without any paid advertising or major promotional campaigns

  • Planned release: Q1 2027

What I’m Looking For

Someone with experience in level design who can create engaging, well-designed maps that support PROPDAY’s gameplay, encourage creative hiding strategies, and provide a balanced experience for both Survivors and the Killer.

This is a revenue share opportunity, meaning compensation will be based on an agreed share of the game’s revenue rather than a traditional upfront salary. The exact terms can be discussed privately based on experience, responsibilities, and long-term involvement.

I’m looking for someone who is genuinely interested in the project and wants to contribute to a game with an existing community and an active development roadmap.

If you’re interested, DM me with a little about yourself and any level design work or portfolio you have.

Hi, I might be interested, but I’d like to know more about the project.

I was checking out your game on Steam, and apart from the description and the screenshots, I couldn’t find much else. From the way you describe it, it sounds like it’s supposed to be similar to Dead by Daylight. However, from what I can see, the horror element doesn’t really come across. The screenshots look too bright and cheerful, and they don’t create any sense of fear or tension for the player. I think the game should convey a very different atmosphere.

I wouldn’t say I’m an outstanding level designer, and I’m not entirely sure what you’re actually looking for in terms of skills and experience. I enjoy challenging myself and experimenting with new ideas, though, so I’d be interested in discussing the project and learning more about it.

Of course, I don’t know what stage of development you’re currently at, whether you intend to release the game as a paid product, or what price range you have in mind.

One of the main things I’d like to know is which game engine you’re using. I’d also like to understand whether I’d be the only level designer working on the project or whether I’d be joining a team.

If you think I could be a good fit, feel free to share your contact details so I can send you more information about myself, my portfolio, and my experience.
