I have gotten props like the one in the image to use on my maps in UEFN. My issue is that when I import them, they look just like in the image. If I click on one of the items, it clicks on all of them and I can’t use them individually. Is there a way to split each prop so they can all be used independently?
I am guessing you purchased these assets from somewhere? You would have 2 options as I see it. Import the file to a 3D modelling software. There are free programs out there. Then you need to export each item as it’s own object. There are a lot of tutorials out there on how to do this for UE5 and it would ultimately be the same process.
No, I got them from Sketchfab. I have looked before for videos to see if i could import them, then export individually, but I have never found any, and have only been able to export all attached like they are to begin with and never separated. So that is why I turned to here.
Yeah, in that case I would open the individual file in something like Blender, and then export the individual models as FBX. I don’t use Blender because I have access to paid software. But I am sure the process is comparable. You should be able to export FOR UE. Maybe this will help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmU7diaNfsE
When taking them into a modelling program to separate, make sure you reset the pivot position for each one to the position you will be wanting to snap or move to/from and then position them at 0,0,0. This way when your rotate or move them in UEFN they will be predictable.
