I’m pretty new to compositing in general, this is my first time trying an Unreal to Nuke pipeline - I want to do the lighting in Unreal and then bring the render passes into Nuke. I’m working on a VFX shot and I’m looking for a way to project the still image of the footage for lighting ref and I can’t figure out how to best do it? Looked into media plates and image plates but I can’t find a way to project without it clipping through the geometry. I want it to project onto the set but not on the CG actor in the scene? if that’s even possible. Right now, I have the texture on the media plate set to translucent because that’s the closest solve I could find. Any suggestions / recommendations on resources I could look into ?
maybe look at lighting materials.
or decals.
or runtime virtual textures
