A few days ago I integrated the Perforce Source-Control solutions for my project. It works just fine now, but since that integration my “Project Settings” won’t perma-save anymore, so everytime I restart the Editor, the Project Settings are put pack to the values at Pre-Integration (before the integration).
Does anyone know something about this? How can I save my Project Settings again?
I know that, with the integration of perforce, the files within my workspace will be locked until I “checkout” the given file(s)… also, since the release with UE 5.0, there is a major change within the editor itself, upgrading the perforce functionallity in the editor, making it possible to integrate the “Stream”-Mechanic of the Helix-Core Server from Perforce.
I thought about some solutions but I see the error if there is anyone:
- Might be the TypeMap chanegs - See here under “P4 TypeMap”: docs.unrealengine.com/5.1/en-US/…
- The “.p4ignore”-File (see screenshot)
- A bug with the integration of the “Stream”-Mechanics of Helix-Core Server
So it might be also some error on the Perforce-Side, but i could not imagine why or how… It might sound not big of a problem but I work much with Tracer and need to specify custom tracer (hence where) in the Project Settings. Because of this bug, I have to set the tracer everytime new again after i restart the Editor.
P.S.: I would be fine if my settings could be saved AT LEAST on my local machine or so…
Here the “.p4ignore”-File
