Project Not Working After the .dll Update

Hello!

I found a workaround for this and i’m not working on that project anymore so this isn’t bugging me, but it’s worth mentioning i guess.

I hadn’t had any problems until a couple of hours after the DLL and the new build was released, the latest project i was working on started not working.

It stayed there minimized(it doesn’t even have a thumbnail image) when i launched Rocket and i wasn’t able to get it working no matter what. Then i downloaded the .dll file but it didn’t help either. And finally i downloaded and installed build 1761932, but again the same thing happened. Then i opened the new Card demo and it worked just fine, so i created a new project from there and i have no problem anymore.

System Specs:

GTX 460 - Driver version 326.19

i5 3570

8GB Ram

120GB SSD

Windows 7 - 64bit

UAC - Off

Install Path: C:/Program Files/Rocket

I’m also attaching the latest log for that project.

Hope this helps!

I had a similar issue to this a little while back, but it was related to attempting to start a new project, and then cancelling out of the dialog before it was created.

The problem then was that Rocket was bookmarking a non-existent project, causing the program to hang. In your case, it’s quite possible that Rocket is doing the very same thing.

So here’s a handy little thing I learned. Try double clicking on a different *.uproject file in windows explorer, and force Rocket to open up that file, instead of a direct run. This will open (and bookmark!) THAT project in rocket, and (hopefully) you can continue about your business as if nothing happened.

It’s gotten me out of a bind once or twice when beta testing and experimenting in Rocket :). It helps also to make sure to keep periodic backups of your maps and assets in case Rocket botches things up somehow.

Good luck.

Thanks, Markus. And yeah, that is what i found out as well after opening the Card project out of frustration. Better make double sure in the future when i start to build a whole project.

Next time this happens, you can try pressing WIN + UP Arrow to maximize the window. At least this was what helped me when this problem happened to me.
