My RealityScan project no longer loads the inputs (images and laser scans).
Everything was properly aligned, but after a crash of my computer, upon reopening the project, none of the images are aligned with the model anymore.
The reconstruction now reports “corrupted data,” even though nothing has changed in the meantime.
Hello @EFFYNGO
As the project crashed, it could be that it is corrupted now.
Can you show the print screen of the error here?
In which step it crashed?
After reopening the project, you see only imported images/data?
When you try to align again, is it working?
Here are the details of the issue:
The project was functioning correctly before the crash, with all inputs aligned and saved.
Upon reopening, none of the camera positions are visible in the 3D view and appear as “--” in the control points window.
Some inputs still appear in the input window, but are no longer visible in the 3D view.
A number of inputs are marked as “???” in the input menu.
When attempting to launch the reconstruction, the software reports “corrupted data,” although no files were modified between the crash and reopening.
Is there a way to recover the project or force RealityScan to re-link the original inputs without losing the alignment work?
I suppose the project will be corrupted now.
Were you asked to recover the project after crash?
Are you able to provide a new alignment or there is also some error?
But is such cases the best option is to start over, just to avoid any corrupted data.
What I found particularly strange is that I was not prompted with any data recovery message when reopening the project, which is usually the case after a crash. That absence seemed unusual to me.
The main concern is that this project takes several days to align properly, and I had already spent many hours realigning the data and manually creating control points.
I really cannot afford to restart the process from scratch.
At the very least, I would need a way to export or recover the alignment data, as it represents a significant amount of work that would be extremely costly to redo.
You can export actual registration from ALIGNMENT/Export/Registration and use that in new project
ALIGNMENT/Import/Component
It is possible, that the process didn’t go to the recovery step, then there is nothing to recover. Do you have set autosave on?
Also, you should be able to export the measured control points and use them in your new project.
What will happen, when you start the alignment in the recent project?
it dosent seem to work :
yes the autosave is on.
When i try to export the measured control pointsit says “invalid or corupted imput data”
When i try to alling it says “invalid or corupted imput data”
OK, so this is a bad sign and I suppose you will need to start over.
I am sorry fo rthat.
