project (begin at ue4.4) crashes always under ue4.6.0/ue4.6.01

what can i do?

my project (begin at ue4.4) crashes always under ue4.6.0/ue4.6.01…
so i can´t open it…

i worked with ue4.6.0 and it worked fine,
but since yesterday ue4.6.0 crashes always at the loading process.
after this i tried the ue4.6.1 update, but i crashes again completely
(not only one level…).

what can i do???
i submitted an bug report… but how long will it take,
that i can go on with my work?

  1. have you already tried it with the 4.7 preview?
  2. is it a c++ or blueprint project?
  3. go into your project folder and check if you can probably find a log file under saved-logs
  4. during the loading process you can see the steps -> at which step is it crashing?
  5. also make sure to post it onto answerhub: https://answers.unrealengine/ :slight_smile:

by the way: i tried it several times and after all sometimes it worked, but bad:
the player stucks within walking… that all worked fine under ue4.4.3…

I see E_OUTOFMEMORY when loading a texture. Haven’t had this myself so grasping at straws here. Check task manager when loading up till the point where it crashes, see how much memory is available.
I’d try deleting the texture after and re-adding it.
I’ve found 4.6 to be a big more top heavy than the versions before.

i think 16gb ram might be enough for loading (i only load substances)…
i guess the ue4.6-series are a little bit “difficult” because in ue4.3.3 everything works fine ;/
