ProfileGPU crashes in DX12

Using preview 5 of 4.12.

if you package the template Third Person game… and run with -DX12 . doing profileGPU will crash.

Hello,

  • Could you please provide the logs from your project’s Saved->Logs folder?
  • Is the game crashing on exit, or right when you type in profileGPU?
  • Could you please cause the crash to occur again and provide your Machine ID from the Crash Reporter window? Ensure to hit send on the report as well, please.

It doesn’t actually crash , it immediately freezes the game entirely and I have to end task via Task Manager.
Note that this ONLY happens when i run the standlone game with -DX12

Could you run the game with the -DX12 and -FORCELOGFLUSH commands and then provide the logs one more time for me?

Can you roughly describe is the problem has to do with 4.12 itself? my GPU? Or my driver?

It seems to be related to having an AMD card in general. We tried reproducing the issue on a few different setups and could never get it to occur on an Nvidia card. The issue reproduced on the AMD R9 290 I was using and happened on both 4.11 and 4.12 so it didn’t seem version related, although I didn’t check back any further. Unfortunately we’re not sure about the exact cause at the moment, but have only narrowed down where it reproduces.
