Processing failed: Operation aborted

Hi,

I’m trying to capture a room, I’ve taken 270 images in a continuous motion.
Clicking the Start button, after a few minutes the point cloud appears and it looks very good, and the processing continues. At that point, the process will progress very slowly, the process can take up to 6 hours, during which the estimated time gradually increases from 10 minutes to 2 hours.
It end with a “Processing failed: Operation aborted” message, along with some debug numbers (see attached image).

Such a sequence normally takes about 20 minutes.
The difference this time is I used active light, I have a rig with 2 flashes. Some of the images are darker than others, it is possible that one of the flashes misfired. Could that be a cause for the failure?

Is it possible to use an on-camera flahs (or a portable rig with multiple flashes) when acquiring images for photogrammetry, or does that hinder the feature matching during the process?

Thanks!

Using flash is generally not recommended for photogrammetry, especially for shiny or reflective surfaces. However, sometimes it is necessary in order to avoid too dark captures.

Understood, I assumed so.
Is that relative to the issue I described? I’d like to have tips on how to avoid the process to fail (or fall in unexpected mode).
Thanks!

Hi Joe Janson

Can you send us the images +rcproj project files for inspection ?
