Procedural ladders!

this would be my choice, to allow it to act more realistic

but there are other methods of “ladders” that fit into the time-period. I’ve seen boards nailed to the wall be used as climbing ladders

The boards-nailed-to-wall thing is totally doable with this blueprint if you just use your own meshes. Actual flexible rope ladders is pretty outside the scope of this one, but there’s that one guy doing awesome rope physics you could look into.

At the moment its an A-to-B ladder. Have you considered creating functionality for multiple points? As in a ladder that conforms to a specific shape.

I haven’t, no. Would that be useful for you?

Not specifically for me at this time, but I can see it adding a lot of value to the system, especially for non-ladder uses. But I’d definitely consider buying if it had this in the future.

Did you set this up so the ladders generate to be that what the standard regulation code is for real-life ladders?

I didn’t, but since you can change the scaling/frequency/distances, etc, on every part, I bet you could pretty easily adjust my ladders to meet those regulations :slight_smile:

Ah, yeah, I could (will assume the stairs will be the same way, too) Is there a dial that allows you to control how wide and thick the rungs are (the things your feet step on)? And anyway to snap these assets to the walls or whatever?

And in the video, you said someone could use their own assets with the system, how do you prepare them to be procedural? Sort of want some ladder types that can fit in a more medieval European type setting, and a rope/chain ladder

Or you know, you could do a whole new asset for just that sort of fantasy stuff, or an expansion

There are actually instructions for how to set up custom meshes one of the walls or maybe the floor of the map that comes in the ladder pack. You could easily make a rope ladder one, for sure. I’d suggest a rope knot mesh in the bolt slot.
And yeah, there’s sliders for scale of rungs I’m pretty sure - if not, very easy to add. Certainly there’s offset sliders and stuff. It’s been a while since I’ve looked :stuck_out_tongue:

I sent an email asking some questions and was never heard back from, and I also put some input on how to improve upon the stairs as they as missing some important aspects
