OK so im kinda new to 3d programing and all my knoledge is mainly with programing in 2d. I have been watching tutorials and think i understand the basics. So im making a survival game and have been 3d modeling all the landscapes in blender and 3ds up until this point. Im goin for a low poly theme so i havent been using the landscape editor. Ive folowed a tutorial on how to make a low poly flat material shader and i have a basic understanding of how it works. So im wondering is there a way i could make a noise map with perlin noise and add a falloff map to make an island. Kind of like this tutorial i found series Procedural Landmass Generation (E01: Introduction) - YouTube but it is for unity and then apply the shader to get the desired effect. As i am new to this it would be helpfull if soneone was able to explane it or even better link a tutorial. I am also wondering how would i then randomly generate foliage from the foliage editor onto the right places (eg. Place trees and grass on the ground and not on certian angled poly faces) if anyone could help it would be extremly apreaciated.
