Hi, I’m currently working on a project based on Earth’s heightmap I find from Nasa’s website. When I try to import it as heightmap to landscape I get really small and really weird heightmap. How can I fix it, should I resize the heightmap.
(I couldn’t upload heightmap because the size is 21600x 10800)
I would try adjusting section size, sections per component, and number of components first.
Usually it is not a good idea to change the scale settings of a landscape.
Thanks for your reply, sections per component and section size are already maximized but it’s still really small for an open-world map, especially for Earth’s and still has really weird heights like it’s going 1m to 100m in less than 5 meters.
And I assume you adjusted number of components and the other settings too?
Hmm… I don’t think I know enough about this subject to help you.
I guess you really are at the point where trying to touch the scaling would be an option.
If you decide to do it, I would recommend duplicating the level before you do though. I’m under the impression scaling settings can make it really ugly sometimes.
Thanks for your reply, How about X and Y; Is there are any way to fix them
Usually heightmaps imports are not maching with unreal landscape Z scale. For WM you have to scale Z with 200, for Gaea 400, for terrainparty 200. you can Scale up your landscape to increase it’s height.
