Hello everyone,
I’m currently experiencing an issue with Niagara VFX in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) since the latest update. I have set up four Niagara VFX that are used to attach objects (static meshes) to players, such as a hand holding a flashlight, in order to improve immersion in first-person view.
Before the update, everything was working perfectly: the Niagara effect would display correctly when the player turned the flashlight on, and disappear when it was turned off. I have three other similar Niagara setups for other objects (a map, a crowbar, and an invitation card), and they were all behaving the same way.
The issue is that since the latest update (I assume), these Niagara VFX no longer behave as expected. They do not display correctly in-game, even though everything seems properly configured in the editor. I’ve checked the functions, events, and all settings related to the VFX devices, but nothing fixes the problem.
When I follow the normal player flow during a gameplay session, I pick up the flashlight, and normally the flashlight Niagara should appear when I turn it on. Instead, the Niagara only activates and works correctly when the player passes through the VFX device itself. I am experiencing the exact same issue with my three other Niagara setups (crowbar, map, and blueprint).
To illustrate the issue, I’ve attached screenshots and a YouTube video showing the problem. I’d really like to know if anyone else has encountered this issue or has any ideas on how to fix it.
Thanks in advance for your help!
