"Problem" with Lightmaps

Hello people,

I have a question about Lightmaps.
As you can see in the picture below, I have black shadows leaking from behind the pillar. I know how these happen… There is still a polygon surface behind the pillar.

Now. To fix this I’d need to go back to my chosen 3D package and delete those polygons… Reimport the mesh, blabla…

Can I somehow fix this without remodelling the thing?

You could try increasing the lightmap resolution of that particular piece.

Which begs the question. Can we get basic polygon editing in UE4? Just being able to select a single polygon and delete, scale, flip would be awesome!

@James, yeah thought about that too but the Resolution is already set quite high…
