Problem with downloading UE4 engine.

Is there any way to download the UE4 Engine installer externally without using the launcher? Or manual download (extract)?

I was at ~80% download completion (of 4GB) when the launcher unexpectedly crashed, I had to restart it and found out I can resume it, BUT it starts back at 0%.

Please, either give us alternatives to either download them manually, an external installer, OR give us the ability to resume download even after the launcher is closed.

Closing the launcher apparently cancels the installation. Please remove that.

there is no way as far as i know . the download should resume for sure but if u get a crash dunno …i never had a crash on launcher

The launcher typically does allow for resume, but looks like something entirely nasty happened there! Ouch!

It doesn’t work for me. Whenever I exited the launcher, and restarted it, the resume option is there but it always goes back to 0%

Unfortunately; It didn’t work… it resumed from Zero…

Resumed from zero for me too, when i downloaded 4.7 some days ago. But my launcher didn’t crash.

Would you guys mind posting things like this on the AnswerHUB that mentioned? There is a section called “Bug Reports”
in which you can post these errors. Please provide as many information and logs as possible. If you don’t find any, just say it and
the awesome Staff guys will tell you how to get them.

Sad to hear it won’t resume, I left the computer for about 3 hrs, and for the last hour it hung on “93% verifying”, and nothing worked. Even the taskmgr.exe hung when I tried to forcefully close the Launcher process.

Guys, wouldn’t it be easier if you just created a torrent link, so we could download it w/out any Launcher problems? I’m sorry for saying that, but it seems that your servers suffer from thousands of connections, and things aren’t going well for the end user like me. One doesn’t simply download it now, you know :frowning:

Yesterday after pausing the download at 55% and closing the launcher, then after 5 minutes re-run launcher again; it was impossible to resume…!!:frowning:
Today; at the early morning, the Resume button is working without any problem…:), but resumed with 44%

Isn’t this a Strange issue…!!?

Hey all,

This is currently a known issue and we are constantly working to improve the Launcher. Thank you for the extra information and the post however, as this helps with others who might be having the same problem. In the future, a good way to get a response to an issue you are having would be to create an AnswerHub post. This way others can also search this location and find a resolution if they are also experiencing the issue.

For a workaround this issue follow these steps.

  1. Go to the folder (your file path may differ slightly): C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\Launcher\VaultCache

  2. If there is a folder/file contained inside called ‘UE_4.7’, delete it.

  3. Open the Launcher.

  4. You should be able to now install the latest 4.7 version.
