Problem with Blueprints opening into an empty window after upgrade to 5.5 from 5.4 is there a fix?

Ever since upgrading from 5.4 to 5.5 I have had issues with Blueprints. Whenever I try to open a new Blueprint or edit an existing one it just gives me an empty window. I have tried everything I can think of to remedy this situation (Including uninstalling and reinstalling the engine as well verifying the files) I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the Epic games launcher. Nothing that I have tried has worked, so I was hoping that someone on the forums would have some info that might help me.

That doesn’t happen to me… I also updated from UE5.4 to UE5.5 and then to UE5.5.1

Have you tried deleting temporary files?

Delete everything inside the “intermediate” and “saved” folders…

Maybe it helps… sometimes the editor goes crazy… usually deleting the contents of those folders helps…

You can also do “Resave all” and “Update Redirectors”…

Thank you for your response! I tried all the remedies that you suggested, but unfortunately they did not fix the problem. When I open a window for settings or other functions I can access them just fine, but that is not the case with blueprints. The window that opens up when I try to access blueprints is a blank window and I cannot access blueprints of any kind.

Can you show a picture of the window you are talking about?

Sometimes when blueprints are from very old versions they simply disappear (you can’t see them in the explorer) but they are there… but you can’t use them anymore.

But that’s not your case. You updated from version 5.4.4, that shouldn’t happen.

I think when redirectors break, blueprints also disappear… in that case maybe you should Import (update) the project again… maybe there was an error when updating…

In any case I recommend using C++ instead of blueprints.

Blueprints can be broken and you’ll never get your work back.
With C++ you can recover 90% of the lost work.

EPIC should tell everyone this… the first time you lose your work because of bluprints it’s a very unpleasant surprise.

Hey, I figured it out! When I migrated from 5.4 to 5.5 somehow my Blueprint window got minimized to the point that it did not show up and the window appeared to be blank. I accidently solved this when I was in the process of taking your requested screenshot by minimizing everything else and this allowed me to see the header for the minimized blueprint window and I was able to resize it from there. Now I have regained access to blueprints within 5.5!!
