Problem with animations when importing .fbx

Hey, I have the problem that I want to import a 3D model with animations from a single .fbx file I bought. However, when I do that the animations don’t work, like they get imported but if I open/apply them there is no model even though there is one selected. I know this probably has an easy solution but I simply can’t figure it out. Thanks for ny help.

Hi @Z3LDRIZZ, this is a very common problem when importing fbx animations. I have found 2 solutions that may help.

1. Import mesh/skeleton, then animation
When you import all your animations and meshes all at once, you may be prompted to set a skeletal mesh for the animation before importing the mesh itself so if you import the mesh first then import the animation, you can set the skeletal mesh to the respective mesh.

2. Setting each mesh individually
Right now, it seems like none of you animations are showing anything and that may be because there isn’t a skeletal mesh. As mentioned earlier you may have imported the animations without a skeletal mesh so nothing will show, to fix this, open up the animation and in the details, you can find and set the skeletal mesh.
