When I create and open an Actor Component I don’t get a blueprint graph. I’ve followed tutorials step for step and when they open the Actor Component in the editor it goes straight to the blueprint editor with the default nodes showing, where I just get the settings page and no way to edit blueprints. I first encountered this issue in 5.3, I installed 4.27 and it doesn’t have any problems, I’ve now installed 5.2 but it has the same issue as 5.3. I’ve tried starting with new files / templates, which still has the same issue. Prior to updating 5.3 it came up with a message when I tried to open the graph which said “Graph is not editable” however after updating simply opens with Class Defaults / Class Settings available.
Hopefully I’ve missed something obvious, but I’ve only found a couple of similar issues and the one marked as resolved had a dead link to the resolution…
I’m thinking I must have something messed up in the editor settings which affects all of UE5, would the easiest solution be to uninstall / install or can the editor configs be reset to defaults easily?
Apologies if I haven’t explained things properly, I’m coming from an industrial design / drafting background, but excited to get some teething issues out of the way and start doing some proper projects in Unreal.
I think you need to reset the editor layout:
In the main editor window:
Window → Load layout → Default editor layout
