Problem rendering Fluid Flux water through the movie render queue

The simulation displays correctly in the editor, with waves and other nice features. But in the render frames, the simulation seems to stop, and the waves disappear. I’m using CoastlineDomain.

Hello there @mikidai2!

If the simulation appears fine in editor, but then disappears during render, it sounds like MRQ is failing to capture the animation in time. Most forms of simulation need a few moments to calculate its initial state, so increasing the warm up frames in MRQ might just do the trick.

In order to do so, open MRQ’s config, and check the “Anti-Aliasing” settings. There, increase the values for “Render Warm Up Count” (test with 64/128 frames) and “Engine Warm Up Count” (test with 100/200 frames).

You can find further details, and parameters to play with, by following the tutorial below:

If the issue persists after that change, then it’s most likely a conflict between Fluid Flux and MRQ itself. For that, I would suggest reaching out to the creator’s support page. Their FAB details point to the following site:

Increasing the warmup frame rate really helped! Thanks! I also found that simply baking the simulation state also helps without having to increase the warmup frame rate. How to bake the simulation state is described in the official Fluid Flux documentation.
