Problem merging photogrammetry components and laser

Hi,

I have a reconstruction of a church formed by a set of laser scans (inside and outside), a set of inside photographies and a set of outside photografies.

The laser scans are imported as exact position and using intensity.

I have aligned the set of images getting at the end three components: laserscans (406 images), inside photographies (208 images) and outside photographies (219 images).

My problem is that when I try to merge them it works only for laserscans and inside photographies (611/837 images).

I have added 3 control points marking them on several outside photographies and on several scans. But it is not working either. I don’t know if I need to configure something else. but I can see the control points when I inspect the separate components and the merged one…

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,

How spread out were the control points? we’re they confirmed on laser scans and both image sets? if so how many pics for each image set? and with how many px error? Did you follow the procedure as described in this video? https://youtu.be/rrXuHcqoOjQ

Hi,

thanks for the fast reply.

How spread out were the control points?

I’ve set 3 control points on the middle of each of the main facades of the church (at different heights), so I guess they cover most of the whole volume.

we’re they confirmed on laser scans and both image sets?

I’m not sure of understanding your question. I have marked the same control points on laser scans intensity images and outside images. Non in inside images because they are not visible from inside, and I don’t see the need as the inside component is well registered.

if so how many pics for each image set?

Laser => Control Point 1 : 2 images | Control Point 2 : 2 images | Control Point 3 : 1 image

Outside photographies => Control Point 1 : 17 images | Control Point 2 : 19 images | Control Point 3 : 4 image

Inside Phtographies => each control point in 0 images

and with how many px error?

Laser => CP1: 0.5 and 0.6 px | CP2: 0.7 and 0.9 px | CP3: – px

Outside Photographies: CP1: [0.0,0.6]px | CP2: [0.0,1.7]px | CP3: [0.0,0.1]px

Did you follow the procedure as described in this video? https://youtu.be/rrXuHcqoOjQ

I didn’t know this video I’m taking a look on it right now.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have just watched the video. I did something similar to this video. Maybe the problem is that CP3 is only in one image on laser?

I will try this evening to improve the control points…
