Problem animating character meshes from marketplace

Sorry guys I’m new to UE4 and I promise I’ve tried searching for answers elsewhere on this forum and online in general

So what I am trying to do is replace the standard mannequin from third person template with a marketplace character (Infinity Blade: Warriors in Epic Content - UE Marketplace)

I added the content to my project, retargetted the animation sequences, blend space and animation blueprint (that comes with third person template) to the new skeletal mesh and the new animation blueprint shows the new character performing animations. However, when I replace the skeletal mesh in the third person character blueprint then select the animation blueprint in the skeletal mesh details (anim class) the character stays in reference pose and does not animate.
