Hey all, need some guidance.
I’ve been following the UE4 “Third Person Blueprint game” Videos on the YouTube channel but I’ve hit a point where I’m having some problems…
I took the punching animation and turned it into a simple melee weapon/sword attack. I have been trying to follow the video tutorials as much as I can, but he uses a montage with multiple animations, where as I am only using a single animation.
I am to a point where I have my animation PARTIALLY playing… it seems like my character begins to swing… but never follows through on the full animation and I have no idea what I have to do to fix it. I’m trying to get a single swing out of 1 button press as well…
I’ll post up all the screen caps I have of my work thus far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are you saying that the animation never fully finishes? Are you pressing the key to attack more than once, might be interrupting the animation montage.
The animation is .4 secs long with a blend out (and blend in) time of .25 …I do believe the end is just blending out…try changing the blend times to 0 and see if it helps…from there you can play around with it to see what blends work best for you…
(the blend times are in the bottom left corner of the screen in the 2nd to last picture you posted in case you you need help finding them)…hope that solves it…
@Wes - yes exactly. Animation doesn’t fully start or finish. Instead of the characters arm swinging from from over head to the front of his body, he just kind of… Flaps his arm to the side. xD one key press.
@ President - thanks for the info, I’m going to check that when I get home from work… I’ll let you know what happens… Appreciate the help

You were right on the money President That totally fixed it.
Blend in and out were causing the animation to have no time to display. Awesome.
