I would like to share a concern regarding pricing and currency conversion on the FAB marketplace.
Currently, creators set product prices in USD, but payouts are made in a different currency depending on the creator’s country. As a result, creators are directly affected by exchange rate fluctuations, which can significantly impact actual earnings over time.
Would it be possible to offer more flexibility in this area? For example:
* Allow creators to set prices per region or per currency.
* Or provide an option to define prices directly in the creator’s local currency.
This could help ensure fairer and more predictable pricing for creators while maintaining consistency for buyers.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback.
I add my concerns to @FungiDreamStudio 's concerns.
I have experience in retail, where it’s common knowledge that prices ending in …,99 or …,90 appear significantly better for the customer. Not only does it increases sell for some strange psychological reason, but with time, it came to relate to “professional seller” and “new product”.
Now, the prices in USD, when converted in EUR or other currencies, end up being things like 47,13EUR
8,44 EUR
and so on…
It is actually confusing! The product appears to have an amateur flair, as if someone in his basement randomly selected a weird price. It also appears weird on the accounting of professional buyers! Almost suspicious.
For that reason, Amazon sellers can choose a price per country, which is in fact another way to choose a price per currency. This way, every price tag can end up with the famous .99.
Epic Games is shooting itself in the foot by ignoring this basic retail knowledge. The creators on FAB get less sales, and as @FungiDreamStudio indicated, there is also a problem of rate fluctuations. Everybody loses. Maybe Epic thinks that “oh but most of our sales are in the US anyway”, we dont want to bother. Well, guess what… If the prices appear weird to EU customers it may be the reason why “most sales are in the US”… Catch 22. If you dont try you wont know.
Epic Games will have to put up this feature at some point, like every other single online selling platform. Again, it is absolutely basic retail stuff. The sooner the better.
