Guys, I’m not sure I understand what;'t happening. The price of the asset is always higher than the one shown in the store. I don’t remember this in UEM. And the taxes aren’t even calculated yet. What’s going on?
It is VAT which is currently Applied on Checkout.
It was there even on Unreal Engine Marketplace although it was precalculated based on your Country and Location, Currently Fab is Incomplete hence it can’t show you Local Price with precalculated Taxes, but it does apply Taxes on Checkout.
It is not Price Increase in Total it is same as it was on Unreal Engine Marketplace.
Yeah, but what does it base it on? Even in USA (which I’m not part of) has a different VAT in different states. Even if I paid VAT on checkout before, I don’t remember it to be this high.
Plus, in Unity Asset Store there is a checkbox you can press it you aren’t “Serbian VAT registered business”, which I’m not, I’m just a dude, so there is no taxes applied.
What’s going on? UEM s**ked, Fab is prettier, but so much worse than before
As far as I know, VAT will be applied based on the country you are located in. For example, if your country has a 20% VAT on digital products, then for a $100 purchase, you would pay $120, and the $20 VAT/GST/tax will be sent to your country’s government by Epic
IIn my country, it’s completely different, and I assume it’s similar in other countries as well. In my country, VAT isn’t applied to B2B sales. VAT is only applied to B2C sales (so if you have a registered business, you wouldn’t be charged VAT/GST (Actually you would but you could Claim that VAT Amount) since it would be a business-to-business sale. Otherwise, if you don’t have VAT/GST registration, you would be treated as a customer and charged VAT/GST).
I agree with this statement. Fab is five steps backward compared to the Unreal Engine Marketplace.
Wait, I thought for sure that we didn’t have VAT. I know for sure that we have an sales tax, along with some other industry-specific rates.
Maybe you are in Florida
