Preview 2 just landed when can we expect the plugin for UE5 to get an update?

The title says it all, I made the mistake of updating to Preview 2 not knowing I would have lost functionality of the Datasmith Importer Plugin for Twinmotion in Unreal Engine. (Great product btw) When can we expect a fix?

Hi ,

I just want to verify, that you're referring to this plugin, correct: Twinmotion Content for Unreal Engine Plugin (Beta 4) in Code Plugins - UE Marketplace?

That plugin was updated in May to work with Twinmotion 2022.2 Preview 1 and should still be compatible with Preview 2. If you're encountering issues using it in the new version, please report the bug using the following https://forms.gle/WKw7CwJk2iq51Y5Y8. The team can investigate any compatibility issues and have them resolved for the next plugin update.

Best,

Raghib

I see there are others with the same issue here(link)

Thanks for sharing this info.

We're having this looked into right now. There were some changes made in the 2022.2 Preview 2 updated that conflicts with the existing plugin. A new version of the plugin will need to be updated and released soon to resolve this issue.

Hi everyone,

This issue will be fixed with the release of the 2022.2 final version.

Cheers,

Francesco

Hello , I'm referring to the plugin Datasmith Twinmotion Importer.

When importing a tm file from UE 5 I get this error "Failed to import 'file://***tm'. Failed to create asset 'AssetName**'.

Please see Output Log for details.

The logs says "Unsupported file format version EFile Version MAX"

I can verify the: "Unsupported file format version EFile Version MAX" with preview 2

Thanks to you all for your efforts, keep up the amazing work

Thanks Francesco, I updated everything and the importer is now working although there's a problem that I was not experiencing with the previous versions.

When I edit a quixel or TM material inside a UE5 imported from Twinmotion 2022.2 if I try to edit the Tint Value under "color" I find myself with UE frozen: stuck at the window "Updating Texture Streaming Data" showing 0% advancement and dead

It seems like it's a problem connected to the Std_Opaque material, it's not happening if I open an old UE file created with the previous version of the importer (and of twinmotion) .

For now as a workaround I made a copy of the Old Std_Opaque and substituting it as a parent material for the new ver imported materials with the new ver seems to be stable and doesn't freeze anything.

I don't have this problem with foliage or other objects (the bark for example)

Hi ,

Thanks for the report and work around.

Would you be able to submit a bug report here with the detailed explanation you just gave in this discussion?

This way we can address it with the development team and track it properly.

Thanks,

Francesco
