Preset views

Is it just me or are the preset views for 3D (scene ribbon) the wrong way round?
When I look at the model from the top, then in my world front schould be the bottom of the screen.
But when I select front though, I look at it from the (former) top of the screen.
Same for left and right.
Sorry, it’s a bit confusing…

Also, it is not possible to zoom when in parallel mode - is that an accident or a feature?

Shortcuts would be great too plus the possibility, to rotate away from the preset.
Oh, and a trackball would be nifty as well, so that it is possible to roll the view around the line of sight!

Interesting, we should vote  or compare with other 3D software to find what is an unwritten standard here.

Hi martinb,

so it’s the way it is supposted to be.

I got this orientation from CAD software (AutoCAD, GStarCAD, BricsCAD etc).
Thought it was the “normal” way, but there always seems to be another possibility…
Personally, I don’t mind much - just need to know which way is which.
