Been noticing major performance issues since the latest update for UEFN and my editor has been getting a constant 8 fps no matter what i do yet my pc gpu and cpu are not even trying to yet my ram seems to be the only part doing something. not too sure if there is an actual fix for this I’ve tried everything from removing foliage, landscapes, devices and not seems to be doing anything yet it only seems to be one of my projects.
Hi Lime,
It looks like your C:\ drive is completely maxed out?!
Not sure if it would affect performance. (Maybe some sort of cache is not able to be written?) - But I’d at least free up a little bit of space before doing anything else. (I like windirstat )
I’d use the console command ‘stat unit’ to give an idea of if you’re being bottlenecked on your CPU or GPU (If GPU time is high vs if ‘Game’ time is high)
I used to use CTRL + Shift + Comma to profile the GPU, but now (in 5.6) it displays all the info in the text log as opposed to the ‘bubble graph’ previously…
Edit - Ah just noticed that this is in the context of UEFN…
Similar to your troubleshooting with deleting things - just try hiding things with the ‘Show’ menu. (eyeball on the toolbar)
Do you see much of a difference when changing scalability settings? (speedometer icon on toolbar)
I used WinDirStat for a decade until I had a falling out with the creator of Chocolatey.
Found alternative “WizTree” on winget, it runs easily 20x faster.
Run this in your terminal and save that 10-20 minute coffee break for the next time you playtest moving a UI element by 20 pixel units.
winget install -e AntibodySoftware.WizTree
Hi Astrotronic, i have tried to hide objects/foliage and changing the scalability and that didn’t seem to work + after deleting stuff on my C drive that didn’t do anything either.
