Preferred angles in control rig FBIK not correlating to behavior?

Having some weird issues with control rig (RBIK) and preferred angles. None of the angles seem to correlate with what’s happening on screen, world or local transform. I lock angles that then move, I set preferred angles to ones that don’t appear relevant (but it seems to work?). The settings are having effects, but it’s trial and error. → 2024-01-19 17-08-34.

I realize your question was asked a while ago, but wanted to share that there is a fix for a possibly-related Preferred Angles IK issue that’s expected to be included with 5.5. If you (or anyone else who finds this post in the future) needs a fix in the interim, the change is available in CL 33319035.
