Post process dynamic material not working well with thickness

I followed this tutorial to make a post process outline effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KvUfnrHcqM&t=3780s

After this, I wanted to make this material dynamic and change smoothly the thickness of the outline. Unfortunately, this effect is not smooth, but seems to be jerky and is not pleasant. I would like to know what I am doing wrong. Thank you very much!

I think you need to make that timeline curve linear

It’s a lot easier to do PP parameters if you use a parameter collection in your material. No more node spaghetti just to set one parameter.

I ve tried with parameter collections and everything and the thing is about updating the thickness, I made other PP outline material and I had the same problem with the thickness.

I have tried to modify something else like the color of the outline and it works fine and the effect is smooth but with the thickness it doesn’t work well.

It could just be the way the material is coded?

I did it from here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KvUfnrHcqM&t=3780s

Sorry, I would have to built it to try it.

The point is, is you can make the effect happens smoothly by draging a slider between 0 and 1 ( or whatever ), then you can automate it.

If the value change won’t happen smoothly, then it also won’t happen with the PP and timeline.

If anyone has ever had this problem, I ended up solving it by applying this to CustomDepthMasking

thank you all for your time trying to help me, I really appreciate it.
