Think it’s a thing in general on FAB right now that most people wont leave a review. There are a few that has been around for long that has 50-60+ reviews but they seems rare. It’s not a bad idea with an email asking for a review although I’m not sure if that would help to get people to do it.
What I find a bit tricky on FAB is that there is no way to see all the products you’ve reviewed or products you haven’t reviewed. I do really like what amazon does, it lists all your purchases in a long list where you can either just give a star quickly or write a full review. When you’ve done that the item disappear from the list making it easy to review but also see reviews you’ve left in the past.
And yeah, I think you’re absolutely right. When online stores email me weeks after I’ve bought a product asking for a review, I usually don’t bother leaving one.
I both buy and sell on Fiverr as a freelancer, and right after an order is completed, they send a notification (sometimes more than one) prompting you to leave a review, whether that’s just a star rating or a full written review. I’ve barely completed orders without receiving a review, the same goes when I buy something myself.

There need to be some kind of incentive to do a review, maybe something like badges / achievements that you get in the FAB forums, although I’m not sure that’d help either. Unfortunately most people only leave a review when they have a bad experience rather than a good one which messes up the actual product rating, especially when those who are happy won’t leave one.
I also think that if you leave a 1-2 star it should be a requirement to write something, it’s kind of hard to address a one star without knowing what the actual issue is. If you get a five star at least you know they’re happy and there is nothing particular to change. I will be honest and say that I review far less than I should on FAB and I think in my case it’s just as I mentioned in the previous post the fact that it’s not that easy to see what you’ve already reviewed compared to something like amazon where you could just star review 100 items in 1 min.
